Will the real fishing buddy please stand up?

It's just about a girl spending time with her granddad. It's kind of cool how it's a girl going fishing, where stereotypically it would be a boy.

It's fun to spend time with your granddad.

Ain't no party like a Scottish mill party!

It's kind of a Scottish nursery rhyme. It's not terribly interesting. I wouldn't have sought it out except it won some kind of award.

Decent book that might inspire dance moves.

It's cute, but there's not really much to it. It kind of sounds like lyrics to a song, all about moving. Younger kids would like this book.

Short but sweet.

It's kind of unusual, with pages that fold out in different directions. The artwork is very charming. There's not a lot to it, but it's the kind of repetitive that is endearing rather than mind-numbing.

Is it racist to say that Chinese people fly kites?

You would think that he would speak in perfect English, because it takes place in China, and they certainly wouldn't be speaking to each other in English. That's kind of a weird convention, but I'm not sure whether it's racist. It's just weird.

The bicycle thief joke, but about wagons.

It's kind of an old story, but personalized in this version. Strangely, in a book about seeing small details, there's a couple of typos. There's not much to it.

Don't be stuck up. Or, anyone can be fooled.

Baby. Seriously. Stop beeping.

I guess it's for a little, little, kid. But it is boring. So boring. It doesn't have very many words, but they're very repetitive.

Old Horny, king of the forest.

A series of prose poems about two baby deer growing up. It's pretty factual. For the most part the deer don't have that many human-like characteristics.

Deer are cool.

Television is bad. Because it is.

I hated this book so much I wrote a YouTube review of it.

Are you a teacher?
No, just a concerned mother who paid a lot of attention in English class.
What is the purpose of your reviews? Why are you rating them from an adult's perspective?
